Trump: Netanyahu is 'tough, smart and strong'

After his summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un, American President Donald Trump yesterday described Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as "tough, smart and strong", the Times of Israel reported.

Netanyahu is currently facing several allegations of corruption, bribery, fraud and breach of trust just months before an election is due to be held in Israel. Trump, however, said he "has done a great job."

"I can say this, he has done a great job as prime minister," Trump said in Hanoi after the summit with Kim Jong-Un.

He added: "He is tough, smart and strong. He is very defensive, his military has been built up a lot."

Since he started his term, Trump has blindly supported Netanyahu and his policies and justified all his crimes against the Palestinians and their rights.

Netanyahu is currently entangled in four political scandals: Case 1000 which involves allegations that the PM and his wife accepted illegal gifts from businessmen; Case 2000 which accuses Netanyahu of attempting to buy favourable newspaper coverage; Case 3000, also known as the "submarine scandal"; and Case 4000, in which a close associate of Netanyahu is suspected of providing confidential information to Israel's largest telecoms company.

The prime minister's wife, Sara Netanyahu, has also been accused of using public funds for private expenditure in the prime minister's households. Only 20 per cent of respondents to the recent survey believe she is innocent.
